Commitment, Covenant, and the Calling to Keep Showing Up

Today marks 25 years with my husband. That’s over half my lifetime — I’m 48 now — and while there’s so much I could say, one thing rises to the top: commitment is sacred.

What Covenant Commitment Looks Like in Business and Marriage

There have been many beautiful seasons in our marriage, and also plenty of challenging ones. I’ve had moments where I wondered what life would’ve been like if I had chosen a different path. But every day I choose to stay — every day I recommit — I know I’m honoring the covenant I made before God. Not because it’s always easy, but because it’s worth it.

That’s the nature of covenant commitment: it’s not based on feelings or speed but on faithfulness.

That commitment reminds me a lot of what it takes to build a business.

I love what I do. I love the women I get to work with. I love watching vision become a reality.

But let’s be honest: entrepreneurship is full of hard days.

  • The financial reward isn’t always predictable.

  • The work is deeply personal.

  • The results can feel slow.

  • And the calling can feel heavy when the fruit doesn’t show up right away.

But just like a lasting relationship, a lasting business — one rooted in purpose and built on faith — requires daily choosing. Daily investment. Daily grace.

We sometimes expect business to grow on a faster timeline than anything else meaningful in our lives. But think about it:

  • Would a strong marriage develop overnight?

  • Would you expect a garden to bear fruit in a week?

  • Would you build a house with no foundation?

So when you feel like it’s taking too long, or it’s costing too much emotionally, spiritually, or financially — remember: this is covenant-level work.

You’re building something worth having.

Something worth staying with.

God sees your perseverance. And He honors it.

Not just the wins — but the willingness to keep showing up.

Keep going. Keep planting. Keep trusting.

There’s legacy in the making.
