Trusting God in Slow Seasons: Why Waiting Isn’t Wasted

What Trusting God in Slow Seasons Really Looks Like

When you’re trusting God in slow seasons, it can feel like nothing is happening — even when you’re showing up, praying, working, and staying obedient. But slow does not mean silent. God is still preparing you, strengthening you, and shaping you behind the scenes. The waiting season isn’t punishment; it’s purposeful preparation for the breakthrough He’s aligning in His perfect timing.

When It Looks Like Nothing’s Happening

I’ve lived through that tension — praying, sowing, showing up, and still wondering if something was wrong with me. But God uses delays to develop discipline. He strengthens roots before He ever grows branches.

There was a season when I was building and creating behind the scenes, but I wasn’t sharing. I wasn’t showing up with visibility. I wasn’t confidently telling people what I had to offer. I was obedient in the work, but I wasn’t obedient in the sharing.

And that’s when God reminded me:You can’t reap from seeds you never plant publicly.

Sometimes the problem isn’t whether or not God is moving…it’s whether or not we’re moving with Him.

3 Ways to Stay Faithful in a Slow Season

Here are the three principles I shared in the live — the ones that have carried me through quiet seasons without quitting.

1. Keep Moving… Even When It’s Messy

Stillness can become stagnation.Progress doesn’t always look pretty, but obedience is movement.

Small steps matter. God honors the mama who keeps going, even with shaky hands and a surrendered heart.

If you’re still showing up — even quietly — that’s faith in action.

2. Steward What’s Already in Your Hands

If we want God to trust us with more, we have to show Him we can steward what we already have.

And yes — sometimes this one stings.

There were seasons when I mismanaged my finances, seasons where I let fear silence my vision, seasons where I built quietly but shared nothing publicly. And in those moments, I felt punished.

But God doesn’t punish His daughters. He prepares them.

He delays increase not to withhold it, but to strengthen us so we can carry it.

3. Stay Connected to Momentum

You cannot grow in isolation.

You cannot stay encouraged in silence.

And you cannot build alone and expect to last.

Community is often the difference between quitting and breakthrough.

I spent 20 years as a solo entrepreneur, talented, capable, and exhausted. But once I stepped into community and mentorship, everything shifted. Accountability revived me. Encouragement sustained me. Blind spots were revealed before they became roadblocks.

Momentum is found in the rooms where people believe with you and for you.

Why Trusting God in Slow Seasons Matters

Faith doesn’t skip the process — it strengthens you for it.

Even when results don’t match your effort, God is building your roots, not just your reach. He’s developing your character, not just your calendar. He’s preparing you to carry what you’ve been praying for.

Your waiting is not a sign of abandonment — it’s evidence of divine alignment.

A Prayer for Your Waiting Season

Lord, thank You for Your perfect timing.

Teach us to trust You in the in-between, to stay faithful in the quiet, and to keep walking even when we can’t see what You’re building.

Strengthen our hearts, steady our steps, and help us rest in Your promise that waiting is never wasted.

Amen.
